Hello Everyone,
I was trying to create an article on Linux Manipur and publish in the
wiki ( www.wikipedia.org). I've tried couple of times. It gets published and then deleted
automatically when I check the next morning. Since I took most of the
contents from our Linux Manipur website, there is a li'l bit issue with the
copyright it seems. What I understood is Wiki does a search of the
contents of the article in the internet and if it finds that it is copied
from a website, then it asks the submitter to write a mail to the wiki
admin from an e-mail ID which contains the domain name of the website (
something like rajesh at linux-manipur.org ) and also put why I've copied
from the website in the discussion page. I did write a mail but from
my personal ID. Also I put the reason in the discussion forum page. But everything in vain :(
Can someone please throw me some lights here?
regards
Rajesh

Kenneth,
Please do NOT abuse the Wiki culture by asking questions and raising
issues through public Wiki document editing. If you have questions,
raise them in the appropriate forum (either of the mailing lists this
is CCed to). If you want to amend something in the document, just
amend it (and let someone else un-amend if if s/he feels fit), or send
a mail to either of these lists asking for amendment.
In any case, defacing a document meant for public consumption is an act
of vandalism. Since I'm guessing vandalism wasn't your intent, I'm
letting it pass this time. The next time this happens I shall
definitely don my ``heavy-handed suppression'' hat (aka grabbing the
LART-stick) and push strongly for your registration on the ILUGD and
Freed.in Wikis to be revoked.
