That looks like a good starting point.  Now if we could add the 
following to it (or some similar resource) we'd be moving along nicely:

1.  Support for hardware popular in India.  This would include laptops, 
desktops, modems, cell phones, WiFi cards, etc. that are commonly sold 
in India.

2.  Support for other distributions.  We'd like to cover as wide a 
variety of distributions as possible, so that non-Ubuntu users (yes, 
they exist!) don't get left out in the cold :)

Sankarsan's link looks promising; I'd suggest using it as the base on 
which to start building.
